Two Youth Congress workers Kripeesh and Sarath Lal were hacked to death in Kasaragod by unidentified assailants, reported the news agency ANI. The United Democratic Front (UDF) has called for a hartal in the district tomorrow. Congress' youth wing - Youth Congress- blamed CPI(M) for the murders.

"We strongly condemn the heinous murder of Youth Congress workers Kripeesh and Sharath by CPM members in Kasargod, Kerala. When will CPM's terror in Kerala stop? We offer our condolences and support to the grief-stricken families," Youth Congress said in a statement on Twitter.
